‘Half Human’ producer Matt Nash – who recently aired his debut album of the same
name on Martin Garrix’s legendary STMPD RCRDS label – is proud to present his
brand-new distortion plug-in ‘DST ///.’ Creating a multi-band plug-in which is both easy
to use, and also packing a really innovative sound, ‘DST ///.’ has been in the works for
more than 2 years, with Matt believing now to be the perfect time to finally unveil his
unique new product.
“It’s perfect to make your sounds pop out and sound fresh but not too over the top like
most distortions, and the biggest thing for me is that it sounds warm and fat and not
digital and thin,” added Nash, who has also previously racked up released on iconic
labels such as Axtone, Musical Freedom, HEXAGON, and Release Records.
“We designed three special distortion algorithms unlike anything on the market to
process your sounds. Each distortion type being unique (with 3 in total) and giving a

different tone & character per distortion type, with the end goal of giving the producer
more options when sculpting their sounds. Each Distortion band is independently
controlled via the editor so you can choose the frequency range per band and also input
gain/output gain to really craft the perfect sound”.
As a long-time Cubase user, Matt Nash’s own creative spark for the new plug-in came
from a previously discontinued plug-in titled ‘Quadrafuzz1’ which was discontinued over
10 years ago. Now, alongside a dynamic development team (Vlad & Elvira), his vision
has come to life, with the Amsterdam-based DJ using the product on a huge majority of
singles from his heavily streamed new album, which has been garnering widespread
critical acclaim.
“It also saves so much time in the studio,” adds Matt. “You can get your sounds working
really quickly with one plugin instead of using 12 and spending forever tweaking them. I
think it will help producers get their sounds super upfront and in your face without much
work. My hope is that it will inspire ideas quickly as we all know time is of the essence in
the studio.
Racking up more than 90 million streams in his career to date, Matt Nash has
cemented a spot as one of dance music’s A-List talents, with the launch of ‘DST ///.’
now giving fellow producers across the world a chance to follow in his footsteps. The
product is available now at a cost of 47 euros via dst.mattnash.com.
