After various reputable link-ups with dance music’s finest, Australia’s VASSY has found her next partners in crime to conquer the music world with. Released by Armada Music, her new single ‘LOST’ is made in collaboration with Dutch star Afrojack and Amsterdam-based producer Oliver Rosa, and may just require all three to clear some space in their respective trophy rooms.
A titanic team-up, brilliant composition and potential chart-breaker in one, ‘LOST’ traverses the pop and dance music realms while remaining emotive and progressive at its core. Catching fire through the warmth of VASSY’s eruptive vocals only to see its burning flames kindled by its infectious piano chord stabs and well-crafted builds, ‘LOST’ proves a song the whole world could lose itself in.
Having earned her stripes through some of the most prized collaborations in dance music history, VASSY’s vocals and songwriting craftsmanship seem to be instant hit material. When last year’s ‘Nothing To Lose’ hit #1 in Billboard’s Dance Club Charts and on U.S. Dance Radio, her single ‘Secrets’ (with Tiësto & KSHMR) had already sold six times platinum, won her an IDMA for ‘Best Electro House Record’ in 2016 and topped off the charts (#1) in 24 countries. ‘Bad’, her anthem with David Guetta & Showtek, racked up more than a billion streams and two million downloads, becoming a global hit in over twenty countries, selling seven times double platinum and winning her an IDMA for ‘Best Electronic Vocalist’ in 2015.
Afrojack is one of the most sought-after producers and DJs today and has a peerless reputation. Born Nick van de Wall, the Dutch electronic music phenomenon collaborated with the likes of David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Pitbull and The Black Eyes Peas, won a Grammy for his (and David Guetta’s) remix of Madonna’s ‘Revolver’ and rocks stages everywhere from Ibiza’s finest venues to globally acclaimed festivals such as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland Belgium and Ultra Music Festival Miami. Now fresh from hitting #1 on U.S. Dance radio with ‘Another Life’ (with David Guetta) and gaining lots of airplay with RnB/Hip-hop cross-over ‘No Tomorrow’ (feat. OT Genesis & Belly), Afrojack shows that putting VASSY, himself and Oliver Rosa together in a studio proves the secret formula to one of the most monumental smash singles of 2017.
Sure to touch a nerve in audiences across the world, ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’ is an outpouring of emotion that makes for remarkable moments. A brilliant mash of Limelght’s outstanding production and the heartrending vocals, this brand-new Armin release will make it hard for any Trance fan to hold back the tears.
Whilst ‘Watch The World’ was electrifying airwaves & delighting fans last spring, it was also having another, altogether subtler side effect. Intentionally or otherwise, it was bringing about a shift in the understanding of who Markus Schulz, the musician, is.
Working in stylistic areas new, penning & co-penning many of the tracks’ lyrics and delivering an entire disc’s worth of acoustic versions were just some of the ways in which ‘WTW’ challenged the Schulz perception chamber. Bringing that development to its natural conclusion this October, Markus signs off on his most transformative long-player to date with its criterion edition.
Never one to do things by halves, Markus commenced the Deluxe Edition by returning each of ‘WTW’s 15 tracks to the studio and fleshing them out into extended versions. Having brought new detail, nuance & life to each, he also adds two new anthem contenders to ‘Watch The World’s tracklist. Alongside ‘You And I’, the album now sports ‘New York City [Take Me Away]’, a second track captivatingly sung by Adina Butar. Also included is the epic-in-every-sense ‘Luce Prima’ (literally translated: ‘first light’). Conceived to bookend his Tomorrowland 2017’s main-stage daybreak set, here its two parts are reconciled into an ever-building, ever evolving 14-minute-long trance goliath.
Whilst putting together the Deluxe edition, Markus observed that when making ‘Watch The World’ “my frame of mind was very much in the song-oriented and radio-based zone. As a DJ though you never really lose connection with the club potential of music – no matter what its tone. With hindsight, I realise I was already making plans, subconsciously, for extensions and remixes to ‘Watch The World’s music, before it was even finished. That’s a considerable part of what this Deluxe edition is all about and I’m delighted I’ve finally been able to scratch that mental itch!”
Developing the reach of its music farther still, Markus sketched out a remix blueprint that would allow the tracks to work both individually and as an album-whole. Ranging from the deep to the uplifting, there are reinterpretations from a broad cross-section of the Coldharbour Recordings crew. Among them are Dave Neven, Nifra, Solid Stone and Fisherman & Hawkins, who have each respectively remixed up a storm on ‘In The Night’, ‘Love Me Like You Never Did’, ‘Destiny’ & ‘Favourite Nightmare’.
There are also rebuilds from legendary trance greats such as Solarstone, Kyau & Albert and 4 Strings, as well as more recent additions to its establishment like Standerwick, Gai Barone and Amir Hussain. Given Markus’ well-known eye & ear for talent spotting, many emerging names are likewise represented. The likes of Dream Sequence, Claus Backslash, Daxson, Artisan & Dawn all weigh in with spectrum-trance remixes, while elsewhere there’s an electro-pop spin of ‘I Hear You Calling’ from We Rabbitz and ‘Summer Dream’s trop-house take-on, courtesy of JackLNDN.

EP CONTAINS TRACKS FROM KEVIN SAUNDERSON & KINK, DUBFIRE AND MARC HOULE
Kevin Saunderson’s KMS label heralds three decades of game-changing Techno music with a special anniversary EP, demonstrating both the genre’s evolution and enduring relevance in today’s musical landscape. This package, underground to the core, will once again position KMS as an imprint spearheading the Techno movement, with many trailblazing years to come.
Reminiscent of the first-ever Techno raves in the ‘80s, ‘Idyllic’ transfers that bygone feeling directly onto the dance floors of today. This track, a collaborative effort between Kevin Saunderson & KiNK and the first of its kind, adeptly molds the unique talents of the Techno legend and Bulgarian household name. Both regarded as some of the scene’s most in-demand artists, they kick off the ‘KMS 30th Anniversary EP’ in a manner that not only pays respect to the genre’s earlier exploits but also shows how bright Techno’s future is.
‘Bottom Dweller’, the second track, sees Dubfire doing what he does best. One half of the Grammy-award-winning and four-time-nominated electronic music duo Deep Dish, this Washington D.C. native has his determination to innovate, evolve and entertain to thank for his current spot amongst electronic music’s finest. He now unleashes a mash of filthy kick drums, deep bass and perpetual synth stabs for his outing on the ‘KMS 30th Anniversary EP’.
The final cut comes from Canadian Techno artist Marc Houle, whose near-Detroit roots have helped define his sound. Boasting a decade-long career of seminal productions (of which ‘Tokos’ is a sterling example) and show-stopping live performances, he is a valuable asset to any Techno label’s roster and a cherished contributor to this celebratory EP on KMS.

From day one, GoldFish have chosen to carve their own path to success instead of taking shortcuts, an ambitious mindset that has already inspired four award-winning albums. But today, this Electronic Music duo has raised the bar even higher with a body of work that’s kaleidoscopic and unified like a great night out should be. ‘Late Night People’ is here.
Following MTV Africa Award winning album ‘Three Second Memory’, fifth album ‘Late Night People’ radiates a sense of coming home, of discovering a piece of the world that has yet remained unclaimed and untainted. Between its funky and sexy title track, the upbeat ‘If I Could Find’ and the ever-vibrant ‘Rising Sun’ (with Pontifexx and Gustavo Bertoni), the album harbors twelve records that are as diverse as they are alike, coexisting peacefully.
Loved for their innovative live performances and cheeky animated music videos, GoldFish have also added something extra in support of their album release. Alongside long-time collaborator and animation expert Mike Scott (Disney, Nickelodeon/Cartoon Brew), they seized the opportunity to launch another one or their outspoken, yet comical music videos, once again sharing their own view on the current state of the electronic music industry. It proves a brilliant video brimming with entertainment and social commentary, just like their music.
Since locking themselves in their bedroom studio and emerging with debut album ‘Caught In The Loop’ in 2006, GoldFish have gone from one of dance music’s best-kept secrets to luminaries both as producers and on the live front. Their can-do attitude and unique musical vision led them to countless sold-out performances and festival appearances, a top 10 in the iTunes Dance chart in the United States, an MTV Africa award, a four-year residency at Pacha Ibiza and a list of support that runs from Sam Feldt and Klingande to Thomas Jack and Robin Schulz. A landmark in itself, their fifth album ‘Late Night People’ is bound to make the duo stand out in and beyond the world of dance music.

Fedde Le Grand is by all accounts a master of reinvention. Over his illustrious career, the Dutch DJ/Producer has tried his hand at different styles in electronic music, collaborating with artists at the top of their game along the way. Now Fedde has taken on the more pop-centric side of dance music, with ‘Wonder Years’, out now via Darklight Recordings.
A poignant and thought provoking track, ‘Wonder Years’ features the soulful vocals of Adam McInnis, who has written songs behind the scenes for charting artists in country, pop, and EDM. Starting with delicate guitar motifs and McInnis ‘ top-line, the track soon develops into an infectious and uplifting four to floor groove, with Fedde’s sublime production ringing out for the chorus.
Coupled with the track comes a music video shot in the hills and valleys of Norway, and at the country’s premier dance event, Palmesus Festival. Following Fedde as he explores this awe-inspiring scenery, the video is both an ode to Norway’s incredible landscape as well as a demonstration of the reaction Fedde gets when he steps behind the decks. As this was Fedde’s 6th consecutive appearance at Palmesus, the video holds added importance, check it out below:
With Fedde’s annual ADE show now just around the corner, this release will undoubtedly heighten the excitement of all attendees, setting the stage for what will be another legendary night in his home country.
