OUT NOW: OMNIA FEAT. ROBIN VANE ‘GUIDE YOU HOME’

Omnia is back with the brand new song ‘Guide You Home’ recorded with the rising star singer Robin Vane who definitely has super skills as the vocalist, but also is a great author. Lyrics of the track is a true revelation of the feelings that most of us have when we’re far away from home or our loved ones. And musically, there is no doubt that ‘Guide You Home’ shows the new side of Omnia as sound-producer and composer. High quality production and a mix of electronic synths in combination with acoustic guitars and live pianos give that emotional splash and makes this track unforgettable. ‘Guide You Home’ is not only the final song from Omnia in 2018 but rather a first step into the new Era of 2019 introducing this brand new sound!
Robin Vane: ‘Guide You Home’ is one of my biggest releases yet. It’s a song that we wrote many years ago. When I heard that Omnia loved the track and wanted to release it, I was so happy and thankful he had the same love for this song. In life we tend to listen to our feelings and be guided by our feelings, but I think sometimes our feelings betray us. Just follow your heart, cause love will guide you home. Where do you really want to be in life? What do you want to achieve? Let love guide you home!’
Omnia: ‘Guide You Home’ was that case when I had so much ‘space’ for creativity as a sound-producer. I’ve been lucky to hear some songs from Robin Vane and there were no doubt that I want to do something with him, so I contacted Robin on Facebook and purposed to work on something together. He sent me an original demo of ‘Guide You Home’ and I was like ‘WOW’! Musically this song gave me an opportunity to use some real instruments and basically to mix it with energetic drops which makes this tune great in both dance & pop ways at the same time. And I also think that the lyrics behind the ‘Guide You Home’ has its personal touch for all of us. No matter how far you are from your loved ones, love will guide you home…

JAN BLOMQVIST’S TRACK ‘ELEPHANT SHUNNED’ RECEIVES AN ATMOSPHERIC REMIX FROM SOLEE

Berlin-based solo artist and bandleader Jan Blomqvist, known for creating concert techno, recently released his album ‘Disconnected’, which was initially broken down and released across three mini albums over the summer. In the age of social media, ‘Disconnected’ explores the meaning of being disconnected, drawing on themes of broken connections, incoherent narratives and escape from reality. A series of remixes are now presented hot on the heels of the full album release.

Listen to Jan Blomqvist – Elephant Shunned (Solee Remix)

In the wake of Rodriguez Jr.’s take on ‘Maybe Not’, album track ‘Elephant Shunned’ receives a dark and atmospheric remix from German DJ/producer Solee, the second in a string of remixes. Percussion builds momentum from the outset, slowly layering bright synth melodies and emotionally charged vocals from the original.

GARETH EMERY & EMMA HEWITT DROP LONG-AWAITED SINGLE: ‘TAKE EVERYTHING’

It’s without doubt a team-up long awaited by fans across the dance music spectrum since their stunning 2010 collaboration ‘I Will Be The Same’, and it’s happening today. Off the back of their recent, brilliant live acoustic cover of Avicii’s ‘Without You’, frequent live collaborators and fellow Trance icons Gareth Emery and Emma Hewitt have joined forces on a drop-dead gorgeous single certain to empower, enchant and inspire every step along the way: ‘Take Everything’.

Listen to Gareth Emery & Emma Hewitt – Take Everything

Already tried and tested live at Gareth Emery’s Laserface Dreamstate show, ‘Take Everything’ sees the two industry icons set an emotionally charged backdrop and serve up a resolute message of emotional survival as poignant as it is defiant. Combining Emery’s inimitable, signature sound with Emma Hewitt’s sublime vocals, the song captures the emboldened spirit of rising from the ashes of a past gone wrong and starting again. From bitter endings to the possibility of new beginnings, ‘Take Everything’ is the resounding declaration of an unbreakable spirit.

Gareth Emery: “People have been asking for years when Emma and I would release another song together and when we finally sat down together in LA to write, ‘Take Everything’ just arrived so quickly and naturally…it was one of those songs that was just ready to be written. We have been performing this live on the recent Laserface shows together and it is unbelievably satisfying to see it resonating with people emotionally on such a scale even before the record has come out. I am really proud of this record.”

Emma Hewitt: “Working with Gareth was an absolute blast too; he is not only one of my absolute favorite producers in the universe, but also one of my very favorite people.  He was on the exact same wavelength with this song and the session just clicked. ‘Take Everything’ is really a declaration of independence for me; it is saying that after the storm, there will always be a new start and a universe of new possibilities in front you. It is a really powerful thing to sing that idea to life and to believe in new beginnings; I hope people take heart in the idea of new possibilities and the pages yet to be written…”

ØRJAN NILSEN COOKS UP NEW, TASTY SINGLE: ‘LOVE RUSH IN’

They say the way to a man’s heart lies in serving him his favorite meal, and Ørjan Nilsen shows that this doesn’t just apply to food-related subjects. Whetting the appetite of electronic music lovers from all over the world, his new single ‘Love Rush In’ has all the ingredients of a prize-winning dance music dish.

Listen to Ørjan Nilsen – Love Rush In

Following Ørjan Nilsen’s sough-after recipe of dance music production to the letter, ‘Love Rush In’ sees the Norwegian wonderworker serve up out a true pièce de résistance. Built on a foundation of mouthwatering chord progressions with Gabriela Geneva’s sweet vocals and tantalizing guitar tones sprinkled on top, this tune is exactly why The Viking is widely regarded as one of dance music’s most esteemed tastemakers.

Ørjan Nilsen: “’Love Rush In’ doesn’t really hold some sort of a fun or mind-blowing story, but I can tell you I was cooking at home when this idea suddenly popped up in my head. So I just left all my cooking behind, jumped into the studio and worked on the melody. It was the perfect track for a vocal, so I reached out to the guy who writes most of my vocals, Mike James, who immediately found the best fit for it. I’ve been waiting for the right moment to release it, and I am super happy we took our time to let it rest as I believe the wait was definitely worth it.”

COSMIC GATE – ‘20 YEARS – FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER’ ALBUM & TOUR

COSMIC GATE RECEIVE FIRST GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR ‘ONLY ROAD’ REMIX

In 2019 Cosmic Gate will mark a milestone: twenty successive years of music-making union. It’s a period that has given rise to dozens of club classics, genre-shaping hits & outright anthems, 50+ career remixes and 8 (soon to be 9) albums. Regularly reminded of this approaching moment by fans, Nic & Bossi looked at not a way to salute the career landmark, butthe way. Fresh off the back of their first Grammy nomination (more info below), what they’ll arrive with in the New Year won’t so much rewrite the ‘greatest hits’ rulebook, as leave it for dust.

What Bossi & I didn’t want says Cosmic Gate’s Nic Chagall, was something that focussed exclusively on our last 20 studio years – a straight up ’greatest hits of Cosmic Gate or whatever. More, we were looking for something that was a broader echo of what we’ve experienced as DJs, with – further – an as-strong emphasis on the future”.

Released in the spring 2019, ’20 Years – Forward Ever, Backward Never’ is a music album project, apparently without precedent. “This will take us closer to the 360 of who we are, where we’ve been and – as much – where we’re going, feels Bossi”. Approaching the release from four distinct points, the album will comprise new Cosmic Gate productions, and collabs with artists who have accompanied their career. It’ll also feature reworks of tracks that have been of particular inspiration, as well as new takes from others on classic Cosmic moments. “Where these four avenues meet on the album will be the sign-off for our last 20 and mark the start of our next.

It could be argued though that it is in fact five avenues: Cosmic Gate’s celebrations will also encompass the liveliest-of-live aspects through their 20-20-20 tour.

Commencing in Australia on the very eve of their 20th year, 01.01.19 will see the group embark on a tour of 20 cities & clubs, all of which have played notable/remarkable roles in the development of their career. Each handpicked by Nic & Bossi, over the course of the nights’ three-hour sets, the group’s ‘future x present x past’ will be thrillingly recognised, bringing its music electrically to life, Details/dates of the first phase of shows are below, tickets for which are on sale from today here (https://cosmic-gate.de/tour-dates/).

With them comes the chance to see one of the most enduring, groundbreaking and critic-delighting names in trance mark their once-in-a-lifetime milestone.

PAVEL KHVALEEV – SONDER

This December will see the release of ‘Sonder’ – the sophomore solo LP from Moonbeam founder Pavel Khvaleev. Following his 2017’s ‘Rebirth’ debut, ‘Sonder’ is a continuation of effectively his life’s work: breaking down the barrier between what we hear and what we see.

‘Sonder’s tracks are loosely themed around the Dictionary Of Obscure Sorrows’ definition of the word. Namely the conceptual realisation that every random person passing us lives an existence every bit as real & intricate as our own.

To realise this Pavel re-orbited with Moonbeam’s established, extraordinary troupe of singers/artistic collaborators. Avis Vox, Blackfeel Wite, Loolacoma, Sopheary, Jacob A. & others – all vets of the group’s 10-year run – resumed their inimitable singing & songwriting work. Others though are newer-comers to Pavel’s high-texture universe. The album features first-time pairings with UK duo RINNGS, Polish composer producer and multi-instrumentalist Olga Wojciechowska and J-Pop sensation LIA.

Through ‘Sonder’, Pavel is presenting an album that’s as close to uncharted territory as exists in this electronic music day & age.

On the surface, ‘Sonder’ is a spectacle for both ear and (through its accompanying videos) eye. Deeper down however it’s a swirling admixture of deeper meaning, channelled through the avant-garde, the introspective, spiritual & abstract. Across two discs, the album is divided equally & unambiguously into vocal & instrumental works.

Dedicated to the former, disc one is a platform for one transcendently affecting song after another. Among them you’ll find ‘Videos’, which (commented DJ Mag in their 8/10 review) “is sung to achingly beautiful effect by UK M/F twosome RINNGS”. ‘Losing Battles’ – the album’s most recent single with LIAprojects house-ier, more Disclosure-ish vibes. Equally tranquil in nature are ‘So Real’ and ‘The Saviour’ – Blackfeel Wite and Pryce Oliver respectively handling their beautifully accented vocal components. Alumni from Moonbeam’s breakthrough ‘Around The World’ album, Avis Vox is in radiant form on the bittersweet future-folk of ‘Sun’. ‘Blind Infinity’ and ‘Skin’ meanwhile draw subtle but reminiscent parallels with the early works of Lamb, Portishead and others.

Everything is relative on Planet Pavel, so to say that Disc 2’s instrumentals are of a clubbier profile would be a qualified statement. It does however move onto a 4/4 footing, the warming of its synths on opening numbers like ’Nocturnal’, ‘Visions’ and ‘Find You’ comparatively signalling a more ‘up’ tone to its second act. ‘Forever’ (with A*S*Y*S) locks in a groove factor, while ‘Indigo’, ‘Sonorous’, ‘Blackout’ and others assume trancier tempos and outlines. ‘Shades Fade’ closes out Pavel’s dazzling second solo LP. In bleepy, quirky, engaging form, it plays with your perceptions of what he is/does to ‘Sonder’s very last.

About Pavel Khvaleev: Bringing sound and vision to the point of indecipherability would be mission-impossible for all but a handful. Pavel however is a man with the toolbox of abilities equal to that task, foremost amongst them vision. The composer/filmmaker’s work has – to date – produced some of the most arresting, thought-provoking and (some might even say) challenging marriages of audio & video within electronic music. Musically he skates the peripheries of a half-dozen electronic music styles, never alighting on any long enough to become classified by it. His feature films (The Random, III and most recently Involution among them) have been shown at film festivals from Berlin to Buenos Aires and dozens of hubs between. In November of 2018 DJ Mag said “The unlikely worlds of trance and art-house never got closer than through the output of Moonbeam Following their 2016 disbanding, Pavel Khvaleev continued solo and if anything the level of artistry’s only risen.

Its theme reaches beyond that. This is about music’s ability to open us up, to stimulate mental imagery, to unlock or bring back memories. It’s about its often hard-to-fathom capacity to support us, to get us through our tougher or more challenging times, as well as soundtracking the good ones, and making them even better. This, to me, goes beyond the mere ‘inspirational’. This is something else. That music can ‘unlock’ us, allow us to access emotions and places our mind might not otherwise go to is nothing less than extraordinary. It’s both force and a gift. I feel that’s a big part of what keeps it so magical for me – indeed for all of us. So this album is a celebration of this most mysterious, impalpable and wonderful aspects of music’s nature”.

With even deeper roots in the PvD universe, there are also vocal contributions from Sue McLaren (‘Lights’/’We Come Together’) and Plumb (‘I Don’t Deserve You’).

The producers who’ve really risen in estimation for me. Sound-wise, each one has their own area and represents a different sub-style within our shared field. It’s these shades, grades & tones, meshed with my own, that open up a whole world of new musical angles for this, my ninth album”.

With the album on full release, Paul offered a final reading on ‘
Music Rescues Me’s title. “The ‘Me’, he clarifies refers to ‘you, me, us – everyone’. ‘Rescue’ means less ‘save’, but more ‘liberate’ or ‘free’. My greatest aspiration for this release is that people – either now, or in years to come – listening to ‘Music Rescues Me will find that one of its tracks elevates, alleviates, opens them up, or takes them out of themselves. That’s the point at which I’ll consider it a success”.
