Bristol’s forward-thinking, genre-twisting duo ICARUS release the video for their single ‘Sirens’, taken from their recent EP ‘This Must Be The Place’. The single has proved popular, after being named Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ and Mistajam’s ‘Self Certified’, whilst amassing 250,000 streams on Spotify in 3 weeks.

The EP comes after the duo joined RÜFÜS DU SOL on their tour, opening for them on the North American leg, with three nights at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall and another three at New York’s Terminal 5. They then stepped up as main support for the bands UK dates, playing venues including London’s Printworks.

The video is a trippy twist on reality, centred around a getaway driver, trapped with his thoughts inside of the car. Through the car windows show a crazy kaleidoscopic of the world outside, with colourful glitches, blurred visuals and twisting angles, create the visuals of what’s happening inside his head.

ICARUS are set to embark on their UK live tour in April for 5 consecutive dates. Kicking off at Manchester’s, The Deaf Institute, followed by XOYO in London and Glaswegian institution, SWG3. Touching down in their hometown, they play the award-winning Thekla, before rounding off the tour in Dublin at Button Factory.

23rd – Manchester, The Deaf Institute
24th – London, XOYO
25th – Glasgow, SWG3
26th – Bristol, Thekla
27th – Dublin, Button Factory

Today Giuseppe Ottaviani turns the page and enters a new album phase with ‘Panama’. The first release to come from ‘Evolver’ – his upcoming 2019 longplayer, its vanguard single sheds first light on the rumoured swing back to the Italian’s origin sound.

The track takes its title from the famed Amsterdam club spot, where its main melody was created during a G.O. Live 2.0 soundcheck. Fittingly Giuseppe gave ‘Panama’ its big reveal in the Dutch city last month. Spun by Giuseppe on Armin’s ASOT900 XXL radio show last month, it instantly sent seismic waves through community trance. ID locks off, the track got its premiere live outing just down the road in Utrecht at ASOT900 itself. Today however is the day we can all get our hands on this big, beautiful mass of sonic energy!

Giuseppe clubfloor overdriving intentions are writ loud and clear throughout ‘Panama’ foundation moments. Live 2.0 production dynamics drive the track, with tenacious three-dimensional bass, riding hi-hats and rapture-intent intro melodies all in close support. Giuseppe then adds heart with starfall piano notes, the ether with pad wave and lucent harmony, before finally opening up the compressors and striking with its kiss-the-sky mainline. Once heard, quite impossible to forget, ‘Panama’ drops today. Get on the end of it here: https://blackhole.choons.at/panama

With both acts coming off of a successful 2018, the time was right for two of electronic music’s most esteemed duos to join forces and score big. Their first-ever collaborative effort, ‘Enlighten Me’, says it all: these guys are in it for the long run and ready to rock the scene like never before.

Listen to DubVision & Syzz – Enlighten Me

Like a sun breaking through the clouds, ‘Enlighten Me’ sets the mood just right. Touching people’s hearts with sparkling chord progressions, crystal-clear vocals and a soaring melody, this song urges fans to raise their arms to the sky and live the moment like never before.

DubVision & Syzz: “We’ve been working on a collab for about a year and a half. With ‘Enlighten Me’, we all had a great feeling from the start. The first demo was done quite quickly, after which we took our time to perfect the details. In the end, we managed to get a perfect combination of groove and melody that perfectly represents the sound of both DubVision and Syzz.”

With numerous Beatport #1s and millions of streams under their belt, brothers Victor and Stephan Leicher (DubVision) are currently enjoying a meteoric rise to stardom. Throughout their impressive career, they’ve worked with the gamut of dance music icons, including Afrojack & David Guetta, Armin van Buuren & Garibay, Avicii, Dash Berlin, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Sander van Doorn, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and The Chainsmokers. Equally successful on the live front, DubVision have thrilled audiences at festivals and clubs such as Tomorrowland, Ultra, Dance Valley, Amnesia Ibiza, Marquee Las Vegas and Pacha NYC, and are known for making every moment count, just like they did with ‘Enlighten Me’.

Also hailing from the Netherlands, Syzz have been on many a dance music fan’s radar as one of the most promising duos of today. Consisting of Jesse and Ryan, they have amassed over 40 million streams across Spotify, YouTube and Soundcloud, collaborated with acclaimed acts such as Dash Berlin and Kura, and crafted up official remixes for the likes of Flo Rida, Robin Thicke, Dash Berlin, 3LAU and Paris & Simo. Also making waves on the live front with sizzling performances across the globe, Syzz obviously have what it takes to rise to the top.

One of the oldest traditions in DJ culture, mixtapes have given listeners a consistent window into the musical thought process of countless of the planet’s top electronic artists, from the Northern Exposure series of Digweed and Sasha to the ASOT specials of Armin van Buuren. Continuing the practice and ushering in the next chapter of their trance legacy are Finnish stars Super8 & Tab, who release their new compilation album today: ‘Past, Present & Future’.

Having already set the trance sphere alight with a stunning 2019 remix of their classic single ‘Helsinki Scorchin’’ and brand-new track ‘Lungs’, the duo have swiftly signaled their intent to up the ante from 2018’s highly acclaimed ‘Reformation’ period. Speaking from their studio in Finland, Miika Eloranta and Janne Mansnerus explained the concept behind the new series.

“Whenever we play out in the clubs or at festivals, fans always ask us to play tracks from across our whole back catalogue, not just the latest hits. There are so many trance tracks that still have just as much of an impact today as they did when they were first released, and we don’t feel DJs should be limited to only playing what’s out right now. For us, that ignores truly incredible music. With ‘Past, Present & Future’ we’re taking our fans on a deep journey through trance, with originals from years ago, our own remixed versions of some of those tracks, singles that are on release right now and also new music that people won’t have heard but that we feel is strong enough to stand in out set list. It’s very much what people can expect from us when they come to see our shows out on tour.”

As with any mixtape, the success of ‘Past, Present & Future’ ultimately boils down to the quality of its track selection. As expected from an act that has been around for well over a decade, there’s a wealth of music to choose from. Tracks featured in the mix include the spine-tingling beauty of Above & Beyond’s Club Mix of their Marty Longstaff single ‘Flying By Candlelight’ and Cosmic Gate’s remix of Giuseppe De Luca and Ilan Bluestone’s ‘Frozen Ground’. The soaring, hands-in-the-air euphoria of Super8 & Tab’s remix of Myon & Late Night Alumni’s ‘Hearts & Silence’ sits perfectly alongside Luke Bond’s remix of ‘Burn’. Erupting with energy are the roaring, thunderous crescendos of festival-ready singles ‘Thrive’ and the Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Armin van Buuren and W&W monster ‘Repeat After Me’. From start to finish the mix is a twisting, turning, rollercoaster ride from the Finsn that perfectly showcases their instinctive ability not just to dominate the dance floor, but to turn it into a living, breathing creature that delivers life-changing moments for those lucky enough to experience it.

Fans can expect to see Super8 & Tab roll out ‘Past, Present & Future’ on the global tour circuit, with headline shows already confirmed for London’s Ministry of Sound and Zouk in Singapore.
