Australia’s hardest working production duo Set Mo (Nick Drabble & Stu Turner) have spent the past year working relentlessly, composing and writing songs inspired by their travels and personal experiences. Having spent time in studios across LondonAmsterdamBerlin and Australia, teaming up with the likes of Touch Sensitive, Happiness is Wealth, AJ Wright (Cloud Control)Asta and Julian Hamilton (The Presets), the duo are set to release their mammoth 16-track debut album ‘Surrender’.

Where many artists would opt to take a break to complete their work, often shutting themselves away, Set Mo approached the writing process in a completely new way. Their plan to write whilst touring and travelling, punctuating the writing process with special locations to draw inspiration.

Having had the original idea to release a new track every month throughout 2018, they stuck to their guns, committed to writing and composing a diverse volume of work. Despite their touring and show schedule around their own successful sell out club brand Stamina Sessions, they managed to deliver every time. In spite of the challenges this presented, they were inspired to name their album ‘Surrender’ after the notion of ‘truly surrendering to your art.”

The result is a sublime album of Electronica, Vocal House, Deep House and Breakbeat featuring a plethora of vocalists from around the world. With influences from the UK house sound, 90’s rave and even Brian Eno. In addition to the tracks they have released over the year they have presented five new exclusives. Surrender is a solid listen wherever you are, with tracks that translate on the dance floor, national radio and streaming playlists alike.

“It was a wild ride traveling around the world and working with so many amazing people on writing this music. From London, Berlin and Amsterdam to country NSW and the Adelaide Hills. These destinations really influenced the sounds on our album. We grew musically, as producers and as people during this journey.” Set Mo

Set Mo planned their release year meticulously, kicking off with the adrenaline-inducing single ‘Nightmares’, featuring Scott Quinn, created whilst in London. As well as a deep Breakbeat feel the track was inspired by the darker feelings of anxiety that was reflected in a special video. Next to be released was ‘Unity’, written in a Berlin hotel room, a nod to the 90s electronic club scene. Followed by ‘Near’, the track shows the duo’s undeniable flair for delivering feel-good house grooves featuring the sultry vocals of Asta.

The journey continued with ‘Communicate’, written during a ten-day writing trip off the grid in Australia, then ‘Fault Lines’ the result of an Amsterdam trip, continuing the feel-good vibe.

“It feels surreal and amazing to have finished our first album. We’re incredibly proud of it – ‘Surrender’ is a collection of our most personal and diverse songs we’ve ever written.” Set Mo

Other key moments include ‘Wish You Were Here’, with an infectious top line co-written by Julian Hamilton of The Presets. ‘Down The Line’ featuring Cloud Control’s AJ Wright, which includes Set Mo’s signature rolling bass and skipping beats. ‘Stuck’, written in the same London studio where the duo wrote their gold certified single ‘White Dress’. ‘Afterglow’, a club-worthy track featuring the vocals of Thandi Phoenix. The final track of the series ‘Surrender’, features a spoken word sample from legendary British record producer Brian Eno, invoking the powerful idea behind surrendering to one’s art.

The 5 new songs included add further context to the boy’s year long story with the soft and gentle ‘Counter Human Emotion Ft. Woodes’. Laid-back track ‘Bergamot’ features uplifting synths, creating a perfect reflection of an Australian sunset. ‘I’ll Be There Ft. Happiness is Wealth’ is a deep and atmospheric track, featuring powerful vocals throughout. ‘You Don’t Know Why’ contains dreamy percussion and emotive keys, and the final new addition is ‘Woodburn’, driven by percussion, including spine-tingling piano chords and enticing vocal samples, making it a powerful closing track.

All together this is a very diverse album showing the breadth and depth of Set Mo’s production skills. Set Mo remain an outstanding product of the vibrant Australian House scene, which has produced some of the biggest stand out artists and releases of late. With Set Mo tipped to be the next break out act of the Southern Hemisphere becoming recognised names in the world Electronic Music landscape. Look out for their live show coming in 2019.

Two years after turning heads with ‘You Keep Me Waiting’, Bender emerges with the long-anticipated follow-up to his debut release on The Bearded Man. Today, ‘Love Rush’ sees the L.A.-based DJ, producer and singer-songwriter make his grand return to the label as well as kick-start his FunkHouse movement in style.

Listen to Bender – Love Rush

Helmed by a tremendously groovy bassline, ‘Love Rush’ radiates an upbeat vibe right off the bat while tuning its rhythms to the perfect dance floor experience. Juggling brisk, sweet vocals with soaring guitar tones in an arrangement that instantly sets the groove, this cut is by all means a perfect return to The Bearded Man and a superbly efficient way for Bender to make his mark again.

Bender enjoyed big success as one half of vibrant “Summer Bass” duo The Rooftop Boys, making waves worldwide with their remixes for the likes of Nick Jonas, Felix Jaehn, Sam Feldt, Syn Cole and Coldplay. As a solo artist, Bender continues to polish his signature sound to perfection while also kicking ass on the live front; he played shows at Tomorrowland, supported Kaskade in New York and shared the stage with the legendary Carl Cox at the last Burning Man.

Release-wise, Markus Schulz gets 2019 underway with the singling out of one of the tracks from last year’s ‘We Are The Light’. A clear-cut favourite amongst fans within a week of the album’s release, it saw a long discussed first-time partnering come to the fore.

An artistic union between Christina Novelli and Markus had been on the table for several years, with the pair weighing a number of song options over the duration. When ‘Symphony Of Stars’ materialized though, they both knew song & time were right! Now fully equipped with an eye-kissing, Jan-blues-dismissing official vid and clubbier excursions from UK duo Solis & Sean Truby and Markus himself, these ‘Stars’ are ready to shine again!

To its song, Christina brings the same characteristic emotional core that touched the likes of ‘Concrete Angel’ and – most recently – A State Of Trance’s Tune of 2018 ‘The Air I Breathe’. Often uplifting, occasionally lamenting but never less than carry-you-away catchy, it’s an intricate collage of pathos and elevation.

Markus’s newly realised Festival Mix takes a classic radio track and brilliantly finds its inner ‘club’. Having placed the spotlight on Christina’s song in its drop, he then brings up those strings, before finally setting its synths to afterburn post-break. With a further tempo uptick, Solis & Sean Truby give ‘Symphony Of Stars’ a primetime rescale best measured by the megawatt. With a pianoforte soaked drop that steals breath, they contrast moments of beauty with floor-raking synths, supplying the perfect counterpart to the Festival Mix.

Shot on location on the Aegean isle of Santorini, ‘Symphony’s official video went online last week. If your part of the world is feeling the chillier bite of winter, your tonic lies but a click away! Infinity Ink make their much-anticipated return with the incredibly soulful offering ‘Rushing Back’, the first track from their debut album. Featuring mesmerizing vocals from Rinse FM host, international singer-songwriter and DJ Yasmin, the record also comes with two remixes provided by respectively Fuse resident Seb Zito and prolific producer Brett Johnson.

Listen to Infinity Ink feat. Yasmin – Rushing Back

Luca Cazal explains that the track was “initially written as an instrumental”, but after meeting with Yasmin, the song evolved. “We started jamming on the drums with an MPC sampler and ended up with a more ‘garagey’ beat. Yasmin and Ali wrote the lyrics, along with the vocal melody in only a couple of hours.”

The original cut of ‘Rushing Back’ opens with warm, melodic synths layered against strings and Yasmin’s effortless vocal, unified by a heady bassline. Seb Zito ups the pace, adding a wobbling bassline, deft FX processing and choice vocal extracts, culminating in a prime-time roller. Brett Johnson deploys rich and old-school tinged synths, driving drum patterns and hypnotic pads on his take, one prepped for those hazy, early hours.

Long-time friends and collaborators, Ali Love and Luca Cazal (a.k.a. Infinity Ink) have cultivated a strong working relationship over the years, visible in their output on esteemed labels such as Hot Creations and Crosstown Rebels. They’ve produced alongside some of the industry’s most sought after names, including Roisin Murphy, The Chemical Brothers, Robert Owens and Justice, taking their sound global across Europe, the U.S.A., South America and farther afield. Yasmin has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Pharrell, Gorgon City and Major Lazer. As well as being an international recording artist and having hits in the U.K. Top 40, she holds down a regular slot on Rinse FM.

You will make it back to me this time

So tell me you’re coming home
Cause I don’t wanna be with anyone else and
Don’t leave me on my own
My own Right Now

I’m crashing down
And I need your help
When you’re not around
OO I loose myself

Come to me right now
Come to me right now
