MYON & LATE NIGHT ALUMNI – HEARTS & SILENCE

September sees Myon renew a studio relationship first formed in 2014 with his debut co-production with the US Late Night Alumni collective. Tonally and thematically ‘Hearts & Silence’ picks up where ‘Under Your Cloud’ left off. It again underscores the brilliant, near-alchemic triangulation between Myon’s clubbier, more driving studio instincts, L.N.A.’s cooler housier, elements and the quiet persuasion of singer Becky Jean Williams’ empathetic, affecting vocals.

On the club mix Myon‘s techier contours and more electro-lining FX light the track’s touch-paper. Against its riding percussion lines and elegiacally bleeping intro melody, collectively they instil a lament-filled emotive to its early minutes.

As sensitively written as they are deeply moving, Becky’s ‘Hearts & Silence’ lyrics and vocal put the brilliance of her from-the-heart songwriting into sharpest possible focus. As the track moves towards the drop, those more wistful vocal accents fade, replaced – in feel and tone – with first hope, and then belief.

Though their music Myon and L.N.A. skilfully shadow this transition. With evermore uplifting elements – orchestral strings, seaside atmospherics and beautifully crafted/strikingly elevating synths all supporting the shift, it swells to its heartening, enriching post-break conclusion. Classy, organic music making at its absolute finest, you can listen/buy Myon & Late Night Alumni’s ‘Hearts & Silence’ HERE

LE YOUTH DELIVERS TRADEMARK REMIX OF MORGAN PAGE SINGLE ‘LET YOU GO’

’s ‘Let You Go’ is still fresh in the minds of music lovers across the globe, L.A.-based tastemaker Le Youth emerges with his own rendition of the Grammy-nominated artist’s recent single to further the momentum as his latest release on Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music.

Listen to Morgan Page – Let You Go (Le Youth Remix)

A delicious, summer-scented mash of piano chords, lush vocals and swirling beats, Le Youth’s remix of ‘Let You Go’ can only be described as a peerless pop-dance crossover song with off-the-charts airwave potential. Sliding effortlessly from verse to chorus and back while remaining infectious and easy on the ear, it stakes its claim as a record that draws everyone to the dance floor and allows them to truly let themselves go.

Le Youth: “From the moment I first heard the record, I connected with the vocal and lyrics. After that it was just a matter of turning it into a House track that I can play in the club. This one is already getting lots of spins.”

Morgan Page: “Le Youth really knocked this mix out of the park with a chill but radio-friendly mix that has beautiful late summer melancholy vibes. It preserves the integrity of the original, yet bumps up the tempo and tweaks the chord progression for some extra emotion and movement. I’m a big fan of Le Youth’s work, and excited to have him on board for this mix!”

Born Wes James, Le Youth is synonymous with one of the most distinct sounds of this decade. His mash of Clinton-era R&B and ‘90s House pulls listeners back to the roots of dance music through its leisurely grooves and airy synthesizers, earning him international acclaim and admirable chart positions in the U.K. As a performer, he indulges his audience with well-crafted live sets full of swinging grooves and hypnotic beats, and the energy and ecstacy found in there is exactly what this colorful remix of ‘Let You Go’ is built on.

BOBINA x CHRISTINA NOVELLI – MYSTERIOUS TIMES

Who ordered the early autumn anthem from two of the scene’s finest then!? If you requested that to come with masterfully subtle trance shades and a thought provoking song, well, you’re about to get served! Bobina – that Kasparov of the keyboards, Baryshnikov of bass and regular production Pavlov has gotten on a first time connect with voice of a (Concrete) angel, Christina Novelli.

A pairing most potent, if you’re feeling even the remotest tinge of those end o’summer blues, these two have the tonic!

Set against a mid-to-peak-time pace, Bobina gets the mercury ascending on ‘Mysterious Times’ with coursing sub-melodies, reverb heavy percussion and echoing harmonic refrains. Around its midpoint he drafts enchanted pianos into the track, linking them up with booming symphonic drums and an entire orchestral string section.

Building the atmosphere further, Christina equips ‘Mysterious Times’ with its beautifully voiced song – the meaningful verses of which will resonate far and wide. As her chorus rises to meet Bobina’s synth apex, the track kicks out the feel-good moment you’ll have been waiting all night for. ‘Mysterious Times’ is available to purchase/listen to now: https://magikmuzik.choons.at/mysterioustimes

DUTCH PRODUCER EELKE KLEIJN ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE ‘DRIVE’ OFF FORTHCOMING ALBUM ‘MOMENTS OF CLARITY’

Fresh off a colossal North American tour with performances in Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York City and Burning Man, Dutch producer Eelke Kleijn has released the latest single “Drive,” off his impending ‘Moments Of Clarity’ album. Arriving as the fourth track off his upcoming third LP, the deep house savant steadily continues to build anticipation for the project before it drops on November 22nd on his DAYS like NIGHTS imprint.

Listen to Eelke Kleijn – Drive

Blurring the lines between electronic music producer and contemporary composer, Eelke Kleijn holds a diverse catalog of music that includes engaging movie scores and pulsing dancefloor tracks. Following up previously released album singles “The Calling,” “Punta Cana” and title track “Moments Of Clarity,” the newly released “Drive” finds its home on the project by once again diverging from the producer’s usual progressive signature sound. With energetic production that channels an 80s vibe, Eelke Kleijn travels in a synth-pop direction while still effortlessly tying in the familiar complexity and emotive melody that keeps fans coming back for more.

Eelke Kleijn: “‘Drive’ is a track that I’ve been working on for a really long time. From the very first version, it’s always been about that really catchy bass line. It’s the kind of track you want to turn up to max volume while speeding on the freeway at night, probably making you ‘drive’ even faster.”

Eelke Kleijn has made a name for himself in both the Hollywood and music worlds, crafting tracks for films like “Parker,” “Rush,” “The Crossing” and “This Means War” and producing songs on established labels such as Anjunadeep, Ultra and more. His bootleg remix of “The Hanging Tree” from blockbuster hit “The Hunger Games” with Jennifer Lawrence topped the charts in 2016, launching the producer to international fame. Adding label head to his repertoire, Eelke Kleijn launched his DAYS like NIGHTSimprint in January 2017, charting releases from rising producers such as Jan Blomqvist, Martijn Ten Velden and more. Taking the label on the road, the DAYS like NIGHTS event series debuted in the United States this summer with a sell-out show in New York City, with more highly anticipated events to come.

RAM & DANIEL SKYVER – GROTESQUE REWORKED & REMIXED 2

You want it pure, unmodified and exactly as the original artist intended it?! Well this time you’ll need to look elsewhere! This September the good folk at Grotesque stand ready to toot the horn of all things ‘remix’ once again!

With an airtight game plan, ‘Grotesque Reworked & Remixed 2’ serves you one mix of the best of the best from trance’s freshly released & remixed crop, whilst the other cliff-dives into the archives to rework some of the genre’s classier classics. Over 230 minutes, the release has a posse of on-point remixers to hand, with Alex M.O.R.P.H., Ferry Tayle, Jordan Suckley, Sneijder, Robert Nickson, Roger Shah just some of those flexing their remix-muscles. They’ve had a starry cast of legends to work on too, with productions from Tiësto & Armin, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Gabriel & Dresden, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Andy Moor and Lange among those coming under the remix laser.

Having handled Volume 1’s duties solo, Master of Grotesque ceremonies RAM shakes up the album system some. For its second outing he’s drafted in head of Grotesque A&R Daniel Skyver to co-mix the edition. With RAM’s focusing on the ‘now’ and Daniel on the ‘then’, between them they’ve delivered a mixcomp that’s as big a salute to the time honoured trance remix as you’ll hear this year!

On his mix Daniel has dug deeper into the crates to focus on still remix-fresh trance heritage. A ‘Café Del Mar’/‘Greece 2000’/’1998’-rerun this is not! Over its opening half you’ll hear reworks like Ruddaz’smuch-champed take on Coast 2 Coast’s ‘Home’, Roger Shah’s reimagining of ‘Somewhere Inside’ from Allure & Julie Thompson and Alex M.O.R.P.H. uptick of Kamaya Painters’ ‘Wasteland’. Further in Joy Kitikonti’s ‘Joyenergizer’ gets a lightning bolt retouch from 2nd Phase, Armin & Tiësto Pres. Major League’s ‘Wonder?’ dazzlingly comes to the remix attentions of that man Jordan Suckley and Indecent Noise overhauls DJ Wag’s Overdose classic ‘Man On The Moon’. Bringing his disc to an adrenaline-charged conclusion, Daniel lines up David Forbes’ fresh-off-the-desk remix of Hennes & Cold’s ‘The Second Trip’, while the mix and heads to the dawn with Binary Finary’s elevating spin on Mauro Picotto’s ‘Komodo’.

On Vol. 2, RAM’s tasked himself with handling the cherry-pick of 2018’s remixes and in the search has left no stone unturned. He frontends’ the mix with Robert Nickson reshaping of Giuseppe Ottaviani & Christian Burns ‘Brightheart’, Sneijder’s restoration of Lustral’s ‘Everytime’ and the Ciaran McAuley refit of Aly & Fila/Ferry Corsten collab ‘Camellia’. As the mix crosses over into its second – even more uplifting – phase, RAM spikes the punch with some reworks of his own material. ‘Forever And A Day’ and ‘Circle Of Life’ feature in their Allen Watts and Amir Hussain reinterpretations, while his and Mark Sherry ‘Nordic Nights’ gets hit by a Darren Porter rebuild. He reaches its final apex with Dan Stone’s remix of Aly & Fila’s ‘We Control The Sunlight’, Davey Asprey’s ‘Sunbreaker’ and HP Source’s H.P Lovecraft-esque take of Sneijder’s ‘Neutralize’.

Remix fun for the whole (trance) family, ‘Grotesque Reworked & Remixed 2’ is the release you need to launch your 2018 clubbing autumn the right way. Full tracklist details below, and the album’s available to pre-stream/purchase via this link now: https://reworked.choons.at/remixed2

Space Ibiza announces new partnership with Carl Cox and 3 of the biggest players in Ibiza

Pepe Rosello, Carl Cox, Dave Browning & Juan Arenas join forces to drive the Space Ibiza brand forwards

The intention is for four partners who all have a long history with the brand to nurture, grow and ultimately to secure the legacy of what is one of the best known, loved and certainly the most awarded club brands in history.

The partnership is made up of Pepe Rosello, the owner/founder of Space in Ibiza. Pepe who alongside Martin Ferrer of Amnesia and Ricardo Urgell of Pacha positively changed the face of Ibiza nearly 30 years ago.

“Space es una forma de vivir la música, que es parte de nuestras vivencias compartidas en los momentos más vibrantes de nuestras vidas. Las raíces de Ibiza se extienden hacía nuevos destinos con la alegría, pasión y entusiasmo de esta aventura, para “volver” de nuevo a nuestra casa, la isla.”

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: “Space is a way of living the music, which is part of our shared experiences in the most vibrant moments of our life. The roots of Ibiza extend to new destinations with the joy, passion and enthusiasm for this adventure, to return to our house, the island.”

Carl Cox, who is recognised as the number one DJ in the world by his peers. Carl’s love of Space is well documented, and his 15-year residency ended the year closed its doors.

”Space club Ibiza, has always been my home for the last 20 twenty years, and now to pave the new way for the future of Space is really exciting, and now forming a partnership with Pepe, Juan, and Dave Browning, to run the newly formed team, it feels solid in the way that we are a family team, and I feel we can bring everything back to where it belongs.”

“We already have some exciting news for next year, and we will tell you all more about that nearer the time. But for now I am very happy with my new role for Space, and I can happily fly the Space flag high.”

Dave Browning, Ibiza promoter of many of the biggest and best parties of the last 15 years and Juan Arenas, Space general manager for the final 8 years in its Playa Den Bossa home.

The Space terrace is part of clubbing folklore, and the 4 partners feel they have a duty of care to ensure generations to come also have the opportunity to experience what, for many hundreds of thousands of people, shaped part of their lives.

Space was more than just a building but a meeting of like-minded people with a shared love of music a feeling, a coming that shouldn’t be lost after the closing of Space’s spiritual home 2 years ago. The idea is to take Space’s original concept of a spiritual coming together of like-minded people to dance and party, regardless of your status or background, across the globe, bringing it to a new generation of people and venues.

Suffice to say that the next chapter in the history of the “best club in the world” will bring a much-needed injection of optimism to the current generic clubbing by numbers music scene that used to be Ibiza.

At the time of print, none of the partners can neither confirm nor deny the many rumours of a new venue in Ibiza suffice to say this is just the first page in the next chapter the story of the ‘best club in the world’.
