After arranging for House hero Harry “Choo Choo” Romero to indulge the Miami scene with the sound of Armada Subjekt a few months back, the second installment of ‘Subjekt Sessions’ sees Ibiza’s star duo taking charge. Comprising 27 groove-led records in two different parts, ‘Subjekt Ibiza Sessions’ has arrived, mixed seamless by Ibiza natives Mambo Brothers.

Born and bred in the clubbing utopia of Ibiza, they know what it takes to stay afloat in this demanding industry and do just that by crafting up superb originals, churning out rock-solid live sets and mixing impervious mix albums like ‘Subjekt Ibiza Sessions’.

Sleeps counted less in weeks and more in days, the doors to SHINE – Ibiza’s new trance bastion unlock at Privilege’s Vista Club in early July. You know the dates, you know the day and you know the DJs (and if you don’t, those details are below!). You can have a reasonable guess at the music policy too, but the boys & girls at SHINE aren’t taking any chances there.

They dialled the Anthem Hotline and it was PvD who picked up. A between-albums project, under the Presents SHINE mantle, he rolled up sleeves and delivered a scene-setting encapsulation for his new residency.

Anthem by name and nature, the track wastes zero time in musically distilling the trance heart of Ibiza. Underpinned by a production as set-versatile as they come, Paul folds cyanic pads, temperate bass and chiming sub-melodies into its system. Super-heated key changes lift the track higher, before he draws its elements together, kissing them off fluently with a mainline that’s the very essence of Isla Blanca.

With DJ Mag commenting: “as moments in trance go this month, there’s few to beat its effect – 9/10, ‘SHINE’s ready to take you to some very special places indeed (though one in particular!). The one your brain will have on repeat all summer long, SHINE on that crazy island here from today or listen via Soundcloud here

Protoculture – Pale Blue Dot

Protoculture will be releasing his brand new album ‘Versiform’ really soon, but he already wanted to give you a look into his musical world. ‘Pale Blue Dot’ is ready for you, starting tomorrow. Longing for more of that Protoculture magic? Pre-order is live:

Taken from the first part of Protoculture’s fifth album called ‘Versiform’, ‘Pale Blue Dot’ sees the South African wonderworker merge epic vocals with a tidal wave of energy. Imbued with a colossal uplifting melody and a stomping bassline, ‘Pale Blue Dot’ is a sonic phenomenon you can’t wait to get your hands on.

MaRLo feat. Emma Chatt – Here We Are

‘Here We Are’ the last track of the trance mailing, but what a masterpiece. MaRLo combined his skills with the lovely vocals of Emma Chatt and the results is astonishing. The original and the Tech Energy mix released on the same day, lucky bastards!

Let’s get it here

In the wake of the supremely anthemic ‘Leave My Hand’, MaRLo and vocalist Emma Chatt have teamed up again for their previous link-up’s true follow-up. Emotive and powerful, shimmering and direct, ‘Here We Are’ is the melodic masterpiece loads of Trance fans have been waiting for. And it’s finally here.

If there’s anything the past has taught us, it’s that Sultan + Shepard are always on top of their game, no exceptions. With ‘I Got 5 On It’, their new release on Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music, the Canadian award-winning duo drops a song that bears all the hallmarks of a summer-long crowd favorite.

Listen to Sultan + Shepard – I Got 5 On It

Once again displaying the peerless production skill that landed them a Grammy nomination, Sultan + Shepard’s summeresque ‘I Got 5 On It’ is easily one of the duo’s most laidback productions to date. Drawing inspiration from American hip-hop duo Luniz’s 1996 hit song for the lyrics, this gorgeous new single entices dance music fans to marvel at the delicious grooves and chill vibe while sipping their drinks at beachside.

Quote Sultan + Shepard:

“I Got 5 On It by Luniz has always been one of our favorite hip hop records from the 90’s. It was a big part of both of our lives when we were growing up – it was kind of the weed smokers anthem and we support that! Whenever we sample a record we always want to add something new to it or flip it in a way that hasn’t been done yet. The music of the original was kind of dark and moody so we wanted to create an instrumental that was equally chill but a little happier than the original. Ultimately it was just a lot of fun for us to make this song because it brought back so many good (and slightly hazy) memories for us.”

Grammy nominees and frequent Beatport charters, Sultan + Shepard have collaborated with a range of top-tier artists, including bigshots such as Tiësto and Ed Sheeran. Remixers to A-listers such as Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Coldplay, they are Canada’s well-known dance music force and among the biggest names in the industry, effortlessly bridging the gap between dance music and pop. With a JUNO award nomination and over 20 million streams on Spotify to date for previous release ‘Almost Home’ (with Nadia Ali), they’ve already got a super hit under their belts in the current twelve-month period. ‘I Got 5 On It’ is looking to bring the counter up to two in that regard.

Militia – Take Me There

Their identity still remains unknown, but their music is speaking for itself. Militia finally releases ‘Take Me There’ after having it premiered by Armin van Buuren during Ultra 2018.

Listen here

From wrecking the ASOT stage and the main stage of Ultra Music Festival 2018 in Miami to the incredible display of power from start to finish, Militia’s ‘Take Me There’ is a sonic juggernaut with only one gear: full throttle. A fusion of stomping sounds and tidal waves of energy, this cut is the tempest you’ve been waiting for.

Fatum – Forward EP

Kicking off the weekend with not 1 not 3 but 5 bangers from Fatum. All combined into one lovely EP called ‘Forward’. It might leave you wanting for more, but don’t worry the guys got you covered. Part 2 is already in the making!

AMSTERDAM, June 29, 2018 – “The title ‘Forward’ is our battle cry: never give up, keep pressing and working hard, and never surrender.” Strong, stirring words from Grammy nominated, Billboard dominating quartet Fatum. “We only move in one direction”, and their opening EP, a five track surge of audio and emotional resonance brainstormed over 12 months, can only be heading skywards on the wings of Armada Music’s highest flyers.

Listen to Fatum – Forward EP

“This EP represents the next phase in our musical evolution” say the four man gang of Daniel Davis, Bill Hamel, Bruce Karlsson and Chad Newbold, who have planted their flag deep into scene setting imprints such as Anjunabeats and Ultra, and received support from only the best. Respect from David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Above & Beyond and Paul Oakenfold, means Fatum are fast-tracking their way to making the world’s arenas their own.

The band’s name translates from the Latin for ‘Fate’, a most appropriate description for when ‘Mowgli’ delivers builds and breakdowns that decide dancefloor destinies. “The EP is very 80s, post apocalyptic inspired with dark undertones, but at the same time beautiful and orchestral” – never better illustrated on ‘Comet’, a mixture of sprawling attack and soaring clarity. “We want to project a cinematic experience, with a story being told through all five tracks.”

‘Spiral’ sets off a cavalcade of synth rockets from a launchpad of clipped, stop-start beats. Dubstep blades coloured ‘Violet’ hack a path for jubilant dance music freedom. ‘Only Hope’, featuring vocals from Angel Taylor in the role of fallen spectre, mixes Oriental-themed vibes and a dropping of BPMs that give an extra 10% boom on the beats. All live up to Fatum’s assertion that “we aren’t your typical trance act”. Keeping your eyes wide open as much as engaging your ears in battle, “a lot of our inspiration comes from film scores, which is why we wanted to have a special visual element with our artwork to help tell the story of the world we’ve created”.

Influenced and expanding on the standards set by Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Nils Frahm and the accompanying elite, Fatum’s ‘Forward’ thinking moves beyond typical trance formulas and opens the door to a world that is completely different, yet reassuringly familiar. “We won’t stop until we get to where we want to go.” Just you try and hold them back.

Having already snatched up some of dance music’s biggest stars over the years, Armada Music’s publishing department can chalk up another. None other than Dutch electronic music icon Sander van Doorn has signed his voluminous discography to Armada Publishing, including many of his groundbreaking works: ‘Riff’, ‘Ten’, ‘Koko’, ‘Drink to Get Drunk’ and more.

In addition to joining forces on the publishing representation of Sander van Doorn’s catalog, Armada Publishing and Sander van Doorn will also launch Haze Publishing as a fund within Armada Publishing, which will include new Sander van Doorn material plus all new records created under his legendary Purple Haze moniker.

Maykel Piron, CEO Armada Music: “We’ve been long-time admirers of Sander van Doorn’s work and sound, so we’re super happy to have him join our publishing set-up. With Purple Haze Publishing as our joint venture, we’re also welcoming a great new asset to everything we’ve got going on right here.”

Sander van Doorn: “I’m really excited to be working with Armada Music Publishing from now on. It’s great to have new people with a fresh perspective on board and I’m looking forward to work with this hugely talented team. We’ll be coming with some great new projects for sure!”

The Ark Cruise Becomes First Cruise Festival to Accept Cryptocurrency,

‘World’s First Music Festival to Accept Ripple’s XRP Coin as Payment’

Whether you believe it to be nothing more than a passing fad, or think it’s the bank-disrupting phenomenon in the global payment environment that lives up to the hype, there’s no doubt cryptocurrencies are here to stay – even if only as a source of polarising conversation.

Named one of the most luxurious, surreal, and unique events by several music publications around the world, in 2018 The Ark Cruise now grants their guests the ability to secure tickets to their second edition this year by using Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), and Ethereum (ETH), in addition to standard methods of securing a festival ticket international party goers would expect. This makes The Ark the first cruise music festival ever to accept cryptocurrencies as a method of payment, via partnering with the Coinsbank payment gateway.

In addition to this, and another world first, The Ark has become the first music festival on Earth to accept Ripple’s XRP coin (the third largest in terms of market cap) as a method of payment, as part of the Coinsbank system. Ripple has made waves recently due to major partnerships with some of the world’s largest banking and money transfer institutions.

One of the planet’s most special and incredibly exclusive events, The Ark Cruise is the answer to the question of what you get when you combine a floating city populated by close to 5000 festival aficionados, with a heavy dose of some of the world’s biggest electronic dance music festival, with an added dash of four spectacular sun-drenched ports on The Mediterranean.

After kicking off their debut year with a sold out event in 2017 lauded by those in attendance, The Ark Cruise is expanding in 2018 with two back-to-back voyages of electronica on the sea, laden with some of the world’s best dance music talent including Luciano, Art Department, Loco Dice, Claptone, Patrick Topping, Camelphat, and many more.

Set to be hosted on the near $1 billion-dollar cruise ship Vision Of The Seas, The Ark will sail the Mediterranean for five days and four nights on each of their two voyages, departing Barcelona, with stints on land in Sete, Palma De Mallorca, and the notorious summer party island of Ibiza.

The Ark Cruise’s two voyages will set sail between August 30th – September 3rd and September 3rd – September 7th later this year, with a limited number of tickets remaining to become a “Chosen One” (The Ark’s name for its attendees) in all cabin categories available for purchase now.
